Should I wash it ?

Not for nothing, but either you don't care, are lazy with maintenance or you don't read any owners manuals. MY Washer and Dryer amongst other major appliances get good coats of wax too. Gerard

Hey Gerald maybe it's got something to do with owning a Kubota. NAW! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I wax the TC-40D also and it's due now. I put my goggles on and drive er through the touchless car wash. Man that hot wax sure feels good after I have had my 1st cup of coffee in the morning....o' baby /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You're lucky you didn't break a disk blade. Here back when row cropping was still going strong, I've seen folks disk down beds that were to wet. It would plug up between a couple of disk blades and put enough pressure to crack the blade.

I hope your soil isn't like some here too. If so you'll have to use a steel bar and a hammer to get that dried mud out. I would keep a large tire iron on the tractor for just that situation (when there might be a wet spot in the field). I'd get the mud out once it started to cake up. It'll work the heck out of you too if it gets in there tight. If there was any grass mixed in that mud it'll be a dog to get out once it dries.

If that was good crop land and worked wet like that, it would take years to get that soil back in good working order. For what you're going to use it for it may not matter.

Hey Mike, I've found my scuba masks to work better than the shop goggles in the drive through car was, but also I don't know if you tried it yet, but put an extra 75-cents in the machine and get the "under belly" wash. It tingles in a good way. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Ofcourse he doesn't do it nude. How else do you think he gets those Hawaiin (how do you spell that?) shirts washed. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Seriously though, Charolais has it right. It depends on the angle of the discs but I broke one clean off by using it when it was too wet and if it dries, it's a pressure washer and crowbar job. I'll never do that again. Just to let you know that I'm not a total idiot, it wasn't the ground that was soaking wet. I was spreading and discing clay that was dug from the bottom of a pond and left in a huge pile.

Frank, you are pretty quick to pick up on my frugality. I get my laundry done and my tractor cleaned for the price of just the tractor wash job. And besides, if I took my Hawaiian (correct spelling) shirt off in public and the innocent children saw the amount of hair on my back they would go off running and screaming that a gorilla had escaped from the zoo. . . and I personally don't want to get shot by a trigger happy cop with a tranquilizer gun who mistakes me for a lesser primate who stole a tractor.
