Had to add a few bucket hooks too.

Did you do all of this with your Miller 175?? Are you welding outside or inside? One of my problems is that I just don't have a great place to weld projects. That all looks nice!

That plasma cutter you have would be a great companion to it. Whats is the thickest material you have cut with it? I think it is rated up to 3/8.

I have cut 5/8 but you have to go slow and be using 220volt on 110v I have cut lots, I really like using it when scraping equipment and fabing up stuff I should have never started on.Till I used this I thougth the torch was great. I went several weeks with out using the torch till this weekend when I had to cut some 1" plate and I was really wishing I had a big plasma, 1st time in 7 months I needed a bigger plasma.
I have been considering moving up to the multi volt wire welder to I can weld thicker material. I think they will be a perfect set-up for a beginer or semi pro.

Yes, all with my 175. Eventually I'll probably end up with a stick welder too. I have no choice but to weld outside (which really slows down the welding projects in the winter ) because my barn floor is still the original 130 yr old wood . I figure mixing molten slag and old wood isn't a good idea. Pouring a concrete floor is on the list, but unfortunately not the short list.

The Miller 135 I was considering was sold, so I am now still shopping. I saw the Millermatic 211 dual voltage machine ($1000). It looks like a great machine to start with and grow into. What do you think about this one?

Looks like my patio is going to be my worksite. I need to check my circuits there and make sure they are sufficient. My shed has no power. I guess I could use a generator and weld in my shed. How do your cut your parts?

Excellent work Ductape! You should take and post pictures of your work more often.

How long did it take you to make that QA into Swiss cheese with your drill press?

Bigger stuff gets cut by the steel shop when I buy it. Mostly I use a chop saw, but sometimes have to improvise with a pneumatic cut-off wheel, sawzall, or other. I don't see me owning a torch nor a plasma till I have a concrete floor.

All I can say is it took 'many hours' of free evenings or weekend afternoons. The QA was sort of a universal fit, unfortunately my loader wasn't universal enough. That was one of those rare occaisions where my patience won and I persisted until it turned out exactly as I had envisioned. I made sure it had exactly the same geometry as factory, including the stops. I don't always take pictures because I've done a few hack-jobs too !!! ;):D

This is and attachment I made for lifting, moving trailers, etc. I used three hitch reciever tubes so its easy to change up. I have some heavy 2x2 to make a longer 'boom pole' type addition.... just haven't gotten to that yet.

It's too late. I am a hopeless tool addict! First it was woodworking-planers, jointers, saws and more saws, hand planes, chisels and on and on. Then tractor stuff- grapples, plows, rakes, blades... And now I am convinced I need a welder to fix things I have not even broken yet. And I already am convinced that a plasma cutter would really be great for my not yet purchased welder. Is there a cure?

YES!!! More tools and beer:)

I just love my plasma, it is so easy to use for so many things that normally would take either a torch or cut off wheel.
