How do you sharpen the inside radius for cutting bailing twine, or do you ever need it to be sharp. I sure could have used one of those over the years.

Needs to be sharp and I use a small diameter chainsaw file. It works perfect and the baling string removal time that used to take an hour now takes five minutes. And that's if you take a moment for a brew.

If you can find the blade and make one of these, be sure to put the blade in on a small backsweep like I did. Otherwise, it won't fit as nice and it is harder to make the pull stroke that cuts the grass or twine.

Made this grinder 60 years ago. After wearing out 3 sets of wheels it needed an new motor a couple of years ago. The old motor from a wringer washing machine finally gave out.

Thanks for the ideas- I have the arbor etc for a water cooled sharpening wheel I bought [for a song] at a barn sale some years hence, and have been trying to find a similarly priced motor w/ enough HP/torque to spin it.

As luck would have it, our dryer's tranny just died recently but it still sounds like the motor is fine, and we also have an old washer in the cellar with a working motor, I just never thought of them as motor donors-

No pics...but, I mounted a 12,000lb winch(overkill for the use) to a handcart. The winch is mounted on it's own platform that slides into a receiver attached to the cart. The receiver has a chain that hooks to tent posts, The cable hooks to a "shoe" for the base of the pole to sit in. We use the rig for pulling up the large center poles on 40ft+ tents. Mounted the way it is I can also use it on any vehicle that has a receiver hitch. The rig has it's own deep cycle battery with on board charger, but is connected with quick connects so I can plug in a power cable I built to connect to a vehicle battery. The capacity has come in handy on the couple of occasions I've needed to unstick equipment.

Maybe not a tool but close to it. I was in a commercial restaurant supply house and noticed these large baking sheets (18x26) for $8.00. I got several to put under machines as shown in the picture. Cleanup of chips and oil is a lot easier.
