So what type of extinguishers are you guys carrying (CO2/foam/water)? And what is your biggest threat?, brush fire, hay baler fire or a fuel/oil/electrical on your tractor?

I carry one of the 2 1/2 gallon water fire extinguishers that looks identical to Hay Dude's in case of a round baler fire.

I have not had a fire but I know two people who had equipment fires. One was a combine where the engine compartment caught fire while combining soybeans. There was an average sized ABC extinguisher on board and it was used, but it took the fire department's brush fire truck to put the fire out. The combine was a total loss. The other was a round baler that had a roll bearing fail. The fire in the baler was put out by ejecting the bale and spraying the bearing with a large water fire extinguisher. The baler got away with no additional damage than needing to replace the failed bearing. The bale fire however had to be put out by the fire department and it took them a while as it kept reigniting.

Here's another one... how often do you guys have them inspected and tested? Coming from three generations of fire fighters and fire inspectors, I bought a half dozen good (not Kidde crap) fire extinguishers from the local company that supplies all of our fire co's, and added them to the few I had already inherited... all in 1998. They are still showing exactly the same charge they started with, or very nearly so, on their gauges. Assuming the gauges still work, that is.

Not a great practice, but since it's now more than an hour round trip to where they're serviced, and I'd not want to be without more than one or two of them at a time, I haven't found a great solution for getting them tested and serviced.

Oh, and the few I inherited? There's two Halon's in that group! I also have the same water extinguisher Hay Dude carries on his tractor, I use it while welding. Do be sure to check the charge on those frequently, as mineral deposits can cause slow leaks on those.
Where can you get them serviced?

Generally I carry a powder extinguisher in case someone elses' stuff is burning, and Halonite or equivalents if it's my vehicle.

Fire extinguishers are also handy for crowd control.... I had an aquaintenance who was caught in a riot while driving his truck in Potland Oregon.
He rolled down the window and shot it off at the crowd blocking his truck, they all started coughing and moved out of the way as his horn was blaring.
He said they didn't know what hit them! The funniest thing was the Police were laughing at the rioters the whole time...

Just saw there’s a tractor and wheat on fire right now in my county.

Having a good bracket to securely hold your fire extinguisher important. Open station tractors are particularly vulnerable to damage. These are easy to attach by U-bolts to the ROPS. A little rubber plug on the pull pins makes them rattle free.
Smokeydog, I sure like the bracket you show - where can I find one like that? I've only seen the flimsy ones that usually come with the extinguisher, and are next to impossible to mount to the tractor. I'd get a couple of those if I could find them! Thanks, Greg

Amazon or eBay. Amazon prices can change quite a bit over time.

Been a rugged, rattle free way to carry fire extinguishers on the tractors.

Used three square U-bolts per mount and didn’t require any drilling.
