I fixed a bad battery connection my B2150 recently. Now the ignition starts it up fine, but the key does not shut it down when turned to the "off" position. (I pull the emergency stop lever instead.) Did I somehow dislodge a wire?

You asked if you somehow you dislodged a wire when fixing a battery connection and really can't be sure if you did or not. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif But if it worked right before you started working on it and then after you completed your job and it stopped working I would say that something you did made this a current problem. These units are stopped by a battery fed solenoid that shuts off the fuel when you turn your key. On a Kubota L35 my solenoid wouldn't work and I would be forced to shut it down with the kill switch. UNTIL I was cleaning the contacts in my fuse panel (on yours I don't know where it is) and the fuse actually had a good amount of corrosion on it preventing the current to pass. As soon as I replaced the fuse and cleaned the contacts I only had to operate the key switch to shut engine down. Another thing I was thinking is that maybe (maybe) when removing the battery connection problem you cause some sort of voltage spike and burnt your solenoid. I don't know about this but I would check the power at the solenoid when your key is activated or remove it from the linkage and give it a different power source to see if it operates. I am sure that someone here that actually knows what's going on will correct us and help you with your problem. Good luck
