Shuttle vs Manual vs Hydro

I guess I am too old to change..I am from the old school..all of this new stuff is fine except when it breaks and then it costs thousands to fix. I will stay with the standard transmission.

You could ask my neighbor about that. His son managed to damage the clutch in his tractor 3 times in 18 months @ $1500-2000 per time.

Now he has a hydrostatic tractor and no more breakdowns.

Just My Two cents about the Question, Shuttle vs Hydro? I work part time at the Local Massey Dealership in town and I own a MF1533 cab modal Hydro. The Hydro has the advantage over Standard gear the SynchroShuttle,The Power Shuttle and theDynaQPS w/Power Shuttle when it comes to Ground Engaging Implements. The slower the better!! Its all in keeping your filters changed and your fluids topped off and how you operate your Machine For Example with a Hydro and a Rotary Tiller set your first pass shallow and use your cruse control, With a Gear and a Shuttle Its a hole new ball game, first rule of Thumb set your RPM and don't ride the Clutch!!!! we replace more clutch plates and throw out Bearings in one week at the shop compared to Hydro units. I'm old School but old dogs can learn new tricks *HeHe* I hope you found my Two cents was helpful. time for me to get down off the Soap box and get some work done around the farm. Thanks and God Bless
