I confess to not having tried very hard ( It's on my to-do list), but I wasn't able, so-far, to use the "smiley-face" gifs. (I don't know about the signature)

My question: Should I expect all this stuff to work on a Macintosh set-up?

Speaking as a staunch Mac supporter, I can tell you all of Muhammad's "markup" stuff is platform-independent. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Just make sure you put square brackets [ ] around the markup words. For example, the winky face above is accomplished by typing "(wink)", except you would use the square brackets rather than the parentheses.

Also, when you post a message, be sure you have selected the "I want to preview my post and/or attach a file" option (default). Then you get to see if you were successful before you decide to actually send the message.

Also, you can edit your post after you have submitted it. Several times I have reviewed my post and submitted it. Then read it on the thread and found that it needed editing.
