Anyone out there have a Sig Sauer P229? I'm seriously considering add a P229 Legion in 9mm, single/double with a de-cocker & day/night sights. Called 6 dealers in the Albany New York area and only one had one which was sold yesterday, :( Shoot!!

I have the compact version (think it's the 226) in 9mm. It's my favorite pistol. Easy shooting and accurate. Really like the single/double action and the decocker. I also have Sig in 45. Really like both of them.

I don't see how this is tractor related, but who cares.

I have a P220, P228 and P229; use to have a P226 and P239.

My P229 has nite sights and is a double-single action and love it. We were required to carry only Glocks, but when shooting for fun, many of us had a P229. Bird had a P229 in 9mm with a Kellerman trigger just like his duty weapon, but don't know if he still has it.

P250, P938 (for me) and P290 (for my wife).

Love 'em!

Yep, I still have the P229 DAK (double action Kellerman), 9mm w/night sights. I bought it new in September, 2009. I used to go to the range about once a month and shoot one box of 50 at the same distances we had to qualify. However, I never carried it; always still carry my old S&W Chief .38 spl. when I carry. So the Sig hasn't been shot in a couple of years (April 16, 2014 to be exact). I've got Sig's own holster, a pocket holster, speed loader, 5 magazines, of course the original case and paperwork, 250+ rounds of ammo, etc. and I'd like to sell all of it. A dealer offered me $600 for all of it, but I wouldn't take less than $800.

My father has a 229....I've shot it a few times. He bought it to carry, and never carries it. He says he likes the way it feels in hand, but not so much how it actually shoots. He shot my Kahr PM9, liked it and bought one...he actually carries that regularly.

I've only sold three handguns in my life....the first was a new 228. That taught me I'm not a fan of the alloy framed Sigs with they're DA/SA de cocker system....ugh. The bore height being so high over the grip is the other downside....the only guns worse about that seem to be H&K. On the other hand CZ's DA/SA is awesome, and even Beretta's is okay.

A good friend of mine is a fellow competitive shooter (USPSA), and Texas Ranger....he won't carry the issued Sig P226, and bought a G17 for daily carry....although he has carried custom SV 2011s in the past.

I'm forced to carry Glocks, but there's a chance we could switch to P320s and that wouldn't bother me (I'm not anti-Sig)...job ust waiting to hear what gets selected (eventually).

All that to say...that's why it's great they make so many different guns!

The DAK version of the P226 is junk. Not sure on the P229. These guns could not handle putting s lot of rounds through them. The regular P226 is a wonderful gun.
