Never heard that before; what's supposed to be wrong with the P226 DAK that makes you say it's junk? A local gun dealer told me the DAK models are the more popular model back east but the DA/SA is more popular in this area. I don't know whether that's true or not, nor do I know why it is, if it is. My P229 has never failed, jammed, or caused any problem of any kind. But I do clean and oil my guns any time one is fired for any reason. And I guess 100 rounds is the most I run through it in one day.
We had many failures out of the box with them. We had some that you could not pull the trigger with a magazine in. If you eject the magazine with a round in the chamber it would fire. Never a problem with the DA/SA P226. I also didn't like the much harder trigger pull on the trigger reset.
