Yeah, just a personal preference. I love it though when people truly (I realize you were joking) make fun of the Glock for being plastic. So many of the composites they can make now a days are way better than metal that has been around for thousands of years.

There is a simplicity to the 38 special though.... that might be the one that ends up in the nightstand or out in the barn if she does not want the 12 ga out there.

For many of us on this forum 911 is not an option because they are too far away.

Yeah my favorite 1911 is a polymer framed SV in .40 S&W.

Of course there is plenty of steel in the frame too. It is a custom gun with a Caspian slide and a wilson barrel.

James, I really wish you wouldn't post pictures like that, I bought a grapple, is there no end, oh the humanity.

You should come over and shoot it.. I will provide free ammo!.. Sweet 2 lb pull, and 19+1 goodness. :) If you can't get it done with 20 rounds of .40, you need to be running for your AR!:)

TripleR if you like something a little more traditional here is my .45 1911 in an all steel package.

"Not gonna do it, wouldn't be prudent..."

EDIT: Oh great, I just saw your last photo, looks a lot like my Gold Cup only mine is blued.

Nice lttle read for a change. I'm actually heading to the range for a bit shooting after lunch. I want to get a few more rounds through my Springfields. XDm in .40,, and the wife shoots a new Mod.2 in 9mm. Both great pistols.

I bet I would too. I need to take a picture of my 70s S&W 29 in it's original presentation case, got a nice Python too, smooth as glass.

Oh, yeah, nice. You do know that those "snake guns" are worth a fortune now?

I have the Elite model. Stainless with wood grips. A very nice gun. Also have the p220 Elite in .45. That is my favorite.

Sure do, wish I had bought more, paid $165 for it. Mine is a 4", I think "The Walking Dead" kicked up prices on the 6" quite a bit, prices go up to $2500 in some places for it.

Its crazy isn't it how a movie or TV show can make the prices of a gun go sky high.

I've got about a safe full of Sigs, including a P229, all of them are 9mm except for the P238 and the Mosquitos. It's a great pistol, but then they all are. I initially bought it for a carry piece, but for some reason, I stick with my 238 in a wallet holster for "dress up" carry, the 239 for just about everything else, but sometimes while on the farm, I'll carry the 226 or the 228. Don't know why, but it seems the 229 only comes out of the safe once or twice a year for shooting and then a few times a year for cleaning.
I've never owned or wanted a DAK, had one pistol that was DA only when I bought it, but I bought the necessary parts and converted it to DA/SA
