HI,
Looking to buy my first tractor. I have had 3 Simplicity lawn tractors and loved them, especially the older ones with the wooden rollers. I am narrowed my search down to a Deere 2320 or a Legacy. I am just having a hard time wrapping my mind around the Legacy acting like a real tractor. The price point on the simplicity is nice, but I don't want buyers remorse.

In case you are wondering Coginchaug means long swamp according to the Indian Natives here in south central Ct.

Depends on your definition of 'tractor'.

As you stated 'lawn tractor'...........then it goes from there. Legacy could be considered a 'subcompact tractor', but it's still a tractor. It's not an 'ag tractor'...........you don't want to try plowing 100 acres.....even though you probably could.

Some will say no...........some will say yes.

But what I will say..........is if you like the lawn striping that a Simplicity will do...........you will hate the Deere.

Welcome! There is a current thread on what makes for a real tractor.

Hi
Thank you for the input
Ron
Your welcome. And I'll also add that if you like the cutting/striping of the Simplicity..............you will hate , not just Deere, but every other tractor made........because none of the others have the rollers like Simplicity does.

If you are thinking about "real tractor" things like a loader, or 3 point attachments then I don't think the Simplicity is the one you want. Have you looked at the Massey Ferguson subcompact GC series tractors? They are a pretty nice package of lawn mower and "real tractor" stuff.

I haven't but will thanks for the suggestion. Since you are in central CT let me ask you who have you found that are good dealers as far as service goes.

Ron- I've only purchased one new tractor (Kioti DK40) bought at Campbell's Service out in Bridgewater Ct (western ct) good folks. If you want to check out a Massey go to Big Boys Toys in Pomfret CT. My friend bought a GC tractor from them and said they were top notch. You probably want to check out Kahns as they are a pretty big dealer.

If your not going to do heavy work the Simplicity is a good choice. We looked at on years ago but brought a NH 21d(its been very good) but I kind of wished we went with the Legecy. 80% of the hours are lawn mowing or other light work. I would thick it equals any other sub-compact out there.

The Smiplicity also can be ordered with a 27 hp diesel.
