Very nice - looks like it grew there!
This is good to read - I've noodled on this issue also. In going through and pricing a SIMS cab on the website for my Kubota L3130, I come up with about $6k with heat, wipers - what I consider the basics, or close to $10k w/AC. Then I look at picking up a different used cab Kubota and I find maybe a $10k gap from cab to open station. Especially since mine is the smallest of the L-series engines, I start thinking if I wanted to add a cab, it might make more sense to just find a cabbed one with a bigger engine like a 3830 or something in that 38-45 hp range. Did you consider that approach at all? Just curious to learn from others that have gone this route.
Interesting that you would say that. I did consider looking for a 3040 Cab model. I found two, but both had the Air Conditioning and the CVT transmission, and I preferred the Hydro after driving the new 8N with the CVT. I could get used to the CVT, but I didn't like the lever to pull for reverse. I prefer the Forward/Backward pedals on the floor. The CVT up-charge was considerable, around 6-7K on top of the Cab adder. The dealer was offering me a very fair trade as well.
In your case, it might be the better option. I also looked at the MX5100 and found it to be a very nice machine. I didn't need 50 HP diesel and I really didn't want to pay for all the fuel that engine uses just for daily tinkering around. I settled for the 40HP - 4 cylinder NH.
Good luck, with the 0%-60 months that is still being offered, you might be able to trade up for a fair price and get the one you'd really like.
