Sim\'s cab use

Today I had to move a lot of 1" pine boards from the back of the first floor of the barn. I wanted them up on the second floor out of the way. I didn't want to walk 50 feet with each board then lift them up to the second floor. Here is my solution to the problem. Boy these cabs are strong. There are appx. 40 boards on the first picture. The second picture has 3 stacks of boards and close 50 boards.

Re: Sim\'s cab use

I remember someone saying that a hard cab is greast for doing things from. I am going to use my tractor bucket and roof as staging platform when it comes time to do the roof on the garage/shed area. Utilizing machinery to it's fullist is my idea of having fun.

Re: Sim\'s cab use

That looks like something I would try, but I'd probably end up posting in the 'DUMMY,DUMMY,DUMMY' thread about how broke my windshield.

Re: Sim\'s cab use

You would only break your windshield if you were not paying attention. I figure I saved myself a mile of walking not to mention going up and down the ladder way too many times. I put over 100 boards up there this morning. This was a great time saver and definitely not a Dummy Dummy Dummy in my opinion. I only had to drive 50 feet to get them where I wanted them to go.

No doubt about that...it only becomes a D,D,D topic if something goes wrong... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif In this case it is a success story! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

For me the funny thing is that I have something similar to do and did not think of doing the same thing! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

No windshield to worry about either...maybe I'll be following in your footsteps in a day or two... /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Thanks for the idea... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: Sim\'s cab use

Henro,
The best thing that came out of all this today was the fact that I am going to build a platform to fit between the bucket and cab so I can work on the old house from the platform. Yankee enginuety strikes again.
