Sims Cab with Stepvan Cab Heater BX2200

When I was pricing cabs last winter, I found that the cab manufacturers would sell directly, but there was no financial advantage, and in the case of Lauren, it was higher than I could purchase it from a dealer. The dealers make 25% on cabs is what I was told and out of this 25% they pay the shipping, so the profit margin isn't very great. I would rather buy from a dealer and let him have the headache if something arrived defective than have to deal with it myself for the small savings even if I could get the 25% discount and pay shipping. In the case of Curtis, in Worcester MA, I am close enough that if I could buy direct, I might be inclined to if there was a price difference. Curtis is out of BX cabs until the first or second week of December when I last checked. Someone else called and they said not till February. By then, the winter is almost over, so it will be another year without a cab... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

The only vinyl and plastic is the door on the left side and a snap on right side. The back, side, and windshield are safety glass. The cab is a little smaller than the Curtis and what I have seen of the Curtis cab it apears to be built a little better, but a few 100 more. The Sim's cost me 1495.00 plus shipping last February and yes I would buy again. I take my cab off for the summer months and it comes off vary easy

Larry,

Thanks for the info. Looking at your pictures I noticed eye bolts on each corner of the cab. Is this how you pull it off? I was looking at Harbor Freight web site, they have an electric 800 pound rated hoist with remote control for $75. I was thinking I could use it to pull off the cab each spring and reinstall each fall. How do you store the unit when not using it?

The switch box in the pics, is that something you made up? , if so where did you get it? How did you wire it? to the connection under the seat or someplace else?

On a different note, anyone looking for a 54" 3pt Puma snowblower? see my add in the classifieds, now asking $1K, or best offer. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yes I use the eye bolts to lift it off in the spring with my engine crane and I made a wooden dolly that I sit it on and roll it out of the way. The switch box I made and you can buy different sizes at your local electronics store. I will take a pic of the electric hookup from under the dash
Have a great weekend to all

Larry,

Thanks again! Can you take a picture of the dolly and eye hooks also? I placed an order for the Sims cab today! Adding the front snowblower and cab, will be ready for snow in a few weeks. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I just bought a used Sims cab for my Kubota 4310 . Where did U get the stepvan heater from? Thank you Wayne

Do you have a block heater for this system? Im going to have to put my 4310 in a makeshift leanto when I get the cab on as it wont fit in the barn or garage and I want to make sure it will start out in the cold winter night . Thanks Wayne
