Clarification please. Is it a 204 or a 304? Makes a big difference. Please post what info you may be able to glean from both the engine label and the tractor label. Engine label is usually on the valve cover or on the side of the block. Tractor label is usually inside one of the fenders or on/alongside the transmission housing. Assuming they're stamped metal, grease tends to obscure the lettering. They'll be easier to read if/when wiped clean with a little WD40 penetrating oil. Pretty sure that's still available in Scotland. Might take some of the black paint with it, but the important thing is to clean out the letter stampings.
