Snow Attachments Size of Front Snow Plow for TC34DA?

I've got a TC34DA with Skid Steer QA and want to put a snow plow on it. I have extra hydraulics on it from my grapple so I can get hydraulic angle on it. I would prefer to mount the plow on the loader arms. I found a used 7.5 foot locally for it with the required Skid Steer QA for $1500. Would this be too much blade for the arms. I would think a shorter 6 or 6.5 would be too small once I angled the blade as my rear blade is 6 foot and I would prefer a little bit more size while angled.

I have pushed a 7' blade with my old, little 15hp diesel Yanmar (4x4). Albiet, it was in Northern MD, where we only get a 3' dump every 5 or so years. Nothing like the snow you get. But, you should be fine with that 7.5 on your NH.

I would buy it, then if it's too big, you can always cut it smaller.

I see that you already had snow this year (My sister lives in Stowe).

Looks like the 7.5 was sold already :-(

A member here has a 6.5 but I think it is a bit small.

Hopefully I'll find another 7.5.

Any idea what the weight is on the 7.5 you were looking at? I think a 7.5' blade is going to be way to much for your TC34 unless you can find a very light duty or a poly blade. I upgraded from a DX33 to a DX45 and just purchased a 7' blade for my DX45. I would not want one bigger and I know it would be way too much for my old 33. Weight is 640 lbs.

I have an 8' blade on my TN75 (75hp) and the snow can stop it dead in it's tracks.

7.5' is WAY too much blade for a TC34

A TC34 probably weighs about 3000lbs (even with loaded tires, maybe 4500)

I'd go 6', maybe 6.5'

I was gonna say maybe to big for your local, it would be fine for 4-6" maybe more of powder, but heavy snow would be a problem, I'm going through the same problem with my 4310 (32 hp), I have a 7.5' Western truck plow that I rigged to the 3pt and am worried that it's to big, I'll only be using it for clean up/piling doing the heavy lifting with the FEL. I'll try it and determine if it needs to be trimmed.
I always had 8' plows on 3/4 ton trucks and once the snow got heavy it was a real battle especially in open lots where each pass doubled the amount on the next pass. I once borrowed my neighbors little S-10 with a 6 or 6.5 plow on it and was shocked at how it easy cut through even very deep snow.

What we have done on some of our plow blades up in Vt is weld a piece of 1 1/2" pipe to the bottom of the blade to prevent it from digging into driveway or lawn, actually whatever we are plowing, it works remarkably well ! It might be something to think about, looking at your driveway !

BTW Im with the others, the 7.5 is too big for that tractor ! Also someone suggested to look for a poly blade. Be careful, some poly blades are heavier than their steel counterparts, because of all the bracing they use to support the blade !

Thanks for the tip, the gravel is a PITN, BTW I saw a picture of your tractor in the "vintage" thread, I really think red is the true tractor color. I do like those Farmalls, I know of one sitting lonely in a garage in town here, as it's owner died fairly unexpectedly recently, "Danny" was a good guy and did enjoy his cub.
I haven't had the nerve to knock on the door and ask his family if they want to do anything with it.

Be careful, some poly blades are heavier than their steel counterparts, because of all the bracing they use to support the blade !

I did not know that Scott. Shows what I know. I just assumed that a poly blade would be much lighter but never thought about the bracing aspect.

Don, here's a pic of the 7' blade on my Farmall 45 just for reference. This will give you an idea of the size and what I ment by sticking out in front farther than a regular bucket.
