Snow Attachments Size of Front Snow Plow for TC34DA?

The problem(s) with loader plows, still, is they have a large front lever arm tending to turn the tractor away from the center of action and they need an extra circuit to run the angle. Check this out: its a 7.5' truck plow ($100) attached simply to 2 drop brackets from the mid-mount mower pork chops (frame drop brackets). Runs off the loader hydraulics, very close to the front axle, ideal pict angle (same as the truck mount) easy on and off, and fast travel time. You need all the front weight you can get for steering and drive traction. Most snow bunnies travel too slowly with their plows, leaving their wives to believe they need more tractor. The secret to a good snow plow deal is ground speed. Snow is a high breakout friction material. Get the blade forces to break the static friction and the snow jumps out of the way.
I run this 35 hp job in heavy, wet snow in top gear which gets the job done. I can do my whole road at the tractor speed limit. Slow down and it can bog.

I use this combo to manicure my gravel driveway, too.

I did not know that Scott. Shows what I know. I just assumed that a poly blade would be much lighter but never thought about the bracing aspect.

Good Mornin jk,
Thats an awesome lookin setup with that blade !!! Very nice ! ;)

When I was haulin junk cars, driving a flatbed car carrier, for a local junkyard I learned about those poly blades. I was surprized also ! :)

John,
Get that Cub when the time is right ! :)

Thanks for the photos. Yea that plow really does stick out far in front. Also it still looks big. Again it looks like a 6.5 is the way to go for my little 34DA.

That looks like a great setup. No torsional force on the arms. Your tractor is certainly a larger frame than mine. If I had the $$$ I'd just get a front mounted blower. My neighbor snow blows my driveway when I have not done it for $15, but leaves some places undone plus around the cars etc. My real preference would be for a Quad with a plow. If I let it get too heavy my neighbor would just snowblow it. I've been using my tractor with the rear blade but would rather have the 3 pt hitch free for the sander which I need as we're on a north facing hill in snow country. So my quandry.....

I am in the process of mounting a 7' snowbear brand (Home Depot sold) plow to my 19hp Yanmar. The plow is much cheaper than the name brands, and is much lighter. Should be perfect for my little tractor. Originally I had planned to mount it to my FEL. But, after reading here, I decided to frame mount it. Because I'm NOT in snow country, I plan on leaving the loader and bucket attached while using the blade. That way, when it snows, I only need to attach the blade (2 pins and a chain to the loader).

However, I will say that now that I have it all fabbed up (still need some additional gussets, etc) the blade is at the end of my bucket. I am sure that I could have made it so that it mounted to the FEL (Bucket removed) and still had the same blade to front axle distance.

I got a 7.5' this summer for my 3520:

My Dad has an L2900 with a 7 Footer....I dont think its too much blade, BUT neither of us are using the blade to clear all the snow, its more for cleanup and making snowblowing easier (pulling snow back from the Garage to where I can get to it, etc..)....

I was looking for 6.5' Blade, but couldnt find one and wanted to get going....

My plow is welded and all set to go except for the hydraulics. Installing rear remotes would work. I would like to, for the reason of budget, share the bucket tilt hydraulics with the blade angle. I was looking at the photos of your Fel Snowplow setup and your plow appears to be set up that way. What have you done.

Whoops! I was looking at JK96's photos on the 1st page. Maybe the previous posting will make sense with this information.

Do you run this off of a rear remote, or the same joystick as the loader?

Welcome to TBN:D

If by "sharing" you mean a electric diverter the "splits" the dump/curl circuit into two then that is a great idea. Do a search for "diverter" for hours of fun reading.

I by "sharing" you mean to unhook the dump/curl hoses and then plug in the angling hoses...You will find this will not work well for you. The cylinders will not not hold their position for long, and you will need to adjust the up/down angle of the blade to get good results while plowing.
