Can I attach a common 5 or 6ft box blade to a 75hp farm tractor? Most I see are category1 3pt hitch. I assume mine is a cat2? I see threads about sizing a box blade to a small utility tractor like a 25 or 35 hp tractor but I don't see any mention of connecting a box store variety box blade to a large tractor. I assume it can be done. Mainly I need a box blade for 700 ft farm lane that is a limestone driveway that is past due on maintenance with potholes. I need to use the scarifiers to dig up the several years of pushed in clean limestone down 3 inches and level out the lane and dig up the potholes before probably ordering a couple loads of 2a limestone on top. I hear there is no use adding it now without first digging or roughing it up down to the level of the pothole. All the box blades I see on the market talk about small tractors. I don't have a small tractor. can I still buy the common 6ft box blade on the market and will it serve my purpose. I don't intend on going backwards with it.(I suspect that would overpower and bend the box blade connection framework)

I think your going to trash a 5-6' box blade. You need a cat 2 7-8' box blade( depending on your rear wheel width). Have you looked at craigslist and facebook marketplace?

For your tractor, I would not consider anything less than 1000 lbs. And yes you might not even be able to connect to a cat 1 hitch. The eyes may be too large for a straight cat 1 hitch,
Don't even bother looking at anything in a cat 1 size. 7' minimum, up to 8'.

Good luck.

All of my implements are Cat 1. Prior to my NH WM75 I had a NH Boomer 8N 50 hp tractor with a Land Pride QH15 Cat 1 quick hitch. To avoid having to by new Cat 2 implements I put the quick hitch on my WM75 when I traded in the Boomer 8N. Now I can easily use my 6' Land Pride box blade and 6' tiller behind the WM75.

Go with whatever is as wide as your back wheels and built from 1/2" plate all the way around for structural integrity. Isn't the Workmaster 75 like 80" wide? A heavy 7ft BB should be perfect for it. Too bad you aren't close to PA, I would sell you my LandPride 2584 BB so I can downsize to a 72". My tractor just isn't heavy enough to pull a full 84" BB uphill.
