Skid plate insanity

I always thought the Kubota had a design flaw leaving that fan so exposed. It is almost like they do it on purpose it is so obvious that it is susceptable to getting branches stuck up there. But, when I voiced this a year ago, people thought I was crazy...anyway, went ahead and purchases a Bro-Tek skid plate. Best investment I ever made. I would be paranoid working in any brush without one...

BX23 600 hours Lots of bush work driving over logs, rocks etc.

Only broke one fan and that was in a clear school ground where there was a single stick that I ran over.

Fan was easily replaced. Not a real problem.

I guess yours was to easy to replace that's why they changed it on the bx24.
I believe your shaft can be removed but the bx24 is to long HMMM kinda makes you think.I luv the bx24 as this is the only problem i've had.I remove stumps and rocks If i cant get them out of the hole I bury them deeper.Works for me and saves the blades on the mower.no shortage of rocks in VT.Guess i will go make a skid plate.

HST Fan - The industry already knows the fans a repair problem why would Kubota change it from a 1.5 hour fix to a 7 hour fix AND not provide any protection, even a skid plate option..total ripoff if you ask me!

Or......why couldn't they make the shaft in 2 pieces with a sturdy coupling that could be easily removed?
