skid plate on tc45d and magnetic block heater

Has any one ever seen skid plates for the under side of a New Holland? How about a magnetic block heater? They used to sell the block heaters at tsc but no more. Help!

No clue on the skid plates. You should be able to get the heater from an auto parts store.

Go down to the New Holland Owning/Operationg forum and search for a post back in 2001 by MIKIM. He built a bolt-on skid plate for his Class III Boomer that is the best I've ever seen.

Thanks for the info. it should would work great! I use my tc 45 like a small bull dozer and i am tired of patching wires lines etc.. The info is verry much appreciated. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Be sure to incoporate your own improvements .... and post 'em ... that solution of mine was 'cause I'm no hand at welding and didn't have a lot of time or money to spend on it. Whatever plate you come up with be sure to put holes in it to reach the oil pan drain plugs.....oops /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

skip the magnetic block heater, you can get one from New Holland that goes in a freeze plug for less than $30. Pretty easy to install (does require draining coolant). I did it last spring. If I plug in the night before, my temp guage is at the 1/4 mark before I start the machine.

I built this for my JD. It hinges at the front, and is held up in the back by the rear hitch. Notice to the rear where I have flanges to the sides. They protect the brake, hydraulic lines and wiring. Have fun with it.
