I like working with metal and it's a hobby. Retired how with plenty of time to do projects like this.
For 13 years worked at a small rental equipment company and was always inventing ways to to protect equipment from user abuse so I would not have to repair it.

Welcome to TBN. BTW, there is a line for Bob's handiwork, and we have not heard from him yet as to whether he will be providing a set of drawings or doing fabrication- so in the meantime line up like at the deli and take a number:thumbsup:

I haven't even had a chance to wake my tractor from winter hibernation yet. Should manage to get down there in the next week I hope.

I've ordered a brake press kit for my press and am close to choosing a portable band saw so am slowly but steadily putting things in place.

Besides measurements, I still need to decide whether to use a direct mount with drill and tapping of the frames or whether to fabricate brackets to go around the frame. I'm leaning towards brackets given I'll have a press brake and don't fancy trying to drill and tap the frame while laying on the ground under the tractor. Still need to crawl under to see how either attachment strategy would work though.

The tractor is willing and able. I just haven't been free to travel down to the island. Ferry schedules, work, weather, family....etc etc. Now that the weather is warming up I can cajole family into making the pilgrimage and hopefully next week I'll get down there.

Just an idea on water proofing the electrics, my father used to work for a telephone company a few years back. They used a thing he called a "snot block" (not sure what it's actual name is?) but it was a plastic box that split in half and contained some kind of non-conductive grease that kept water out of the connections very well. Some thing like this would be very simple to make although a bit messy if you need to disconnect the wires.
