Hahahaha.... good way to get slapped, too. But, nothing ventured, nothing gained. :)

Who on TBN has ever used or heard the word "parbuckling" and knew what it meant before this year?

Not a logger, but I first heard it about 15 years ago when I started heating primarily with wood. If you are messing around with loading logs in trailers, and don't have the $$ to spring for a forwarding trailer (the kind with a hydraulic knuckleboom loader) you are bound to run into it sooner or later. It's an inexpensive way to get heavy logs off the ground and into a trailer.

Actually, I was under the impression that it was a common term, but I guess it's only common if you hang around on websites or in crowds more focused on Forestry/logging. (I first heard it on the Forestry Forum.)

I've known the term for longer than a year, but less than five years. That said, it's not a common term in my estimation. Also, just because someone doesn't know about parbuckling, doesn't mean they've led a sheltered life. I don't think SR contributed anything by teasing the poster who admitted to not knowing it. That's why we're here SR, to learn from each other. No need to be condescending. I'm sure that dude knows about a whole world of information that we've never encountered. Doesn't mean we're sheltered, just not done learning.
