You can try putting a square against the landside, then measure at a right angle from that line. Or, hook the tape on the landside and measure at 90 degrees to the farthest part of the share. Assuming the landside is fully against the edge of the furrow as you plow, the trailing corner of the share will determine the width of the cut. I'll try to get some pics and measurements of mine tomorrow, which are 12 inch plows.
I've got a couple of links to plow manuals which go into setup and adjustments. While they may not be Skjold manuals, the principle is the same. I'll look for those tomorrow too.
