Because it may not happen for a while,, remember to replace the peroxide annually,,
the peroxide will loose strength quickly,,,

Really? Even if it's in a dark place and it's never been opened?

My mother as a child had a de scented skunk as a pet that she kept on a leash.
She said it was just like having a kitten.

Granpa trapped many skunks and would cover the cage with a blanket and take the trap to the creek and see if the could swim.
He never got sprayed either.

I have a shoot on sight policy with skunks. 12 ga loaded with 3" pheasant loads (usually #5's) will turn them off like a switch just past 50 yards. Farther than that, it's either 223 or whatever "deer rifle" I can get to quickly. We've been really lucky right here, and haven't had any up around our house or out buildings, but I've shot a few in the pasture. I just leave them lay for a couple days, then go get them with a garbage bag. Turn the bag inside out, grab the skunk and wrap it in the bag as I pick it up.

hydrogen peroxide shelf life - Google Search

A couple of other uses for hydrogen peroxide...it will remove blood stains from linens and clothing...
If dogs eat rat poison etc...pouring peroxide down a dog's mouth will induce vomiting and purge the contents of their stomachs...(learned this from a vet)...

On a side note...for many years I was an avid offshore fisherman...we always kept a bottle of peroxide handy to "gas" the bait fish in the live wells...not really sure what it does but it really livens them up...we always assumed it raised the O2 level...?

I’m armed with a trap, a tarp, and C02. If it can warm a globe, it can kill a skunk.

Mace has the answer. Dog...."Charlie, " just got his 5th spraying. His last two encounters, he killed the skunk. But after five times one would think he had learned something. One Quart Hydrogen Peroxide, 1/4 cup of baking soda, and a table spoon of liquid dish soap, shake it up and let it sit for 10 minutes before application. Put a little petroleum jelly over the brow of eyes. You will have to repeat this three times over three days, but it works. You have to leave it on the dog for at least 20 minutes before rinsing. The tomato paste, and the vinegar solutions, do not work, as we tried those the first three times and the scent was still there, just as strong as ever, when ever the dog got wet. The collars don't seem to be save-able. I've tried **** near everything including a soak in mouth wash. :)

Just don't mix it up in advance, unless you want another "surprise". Did you ever make a "volcano" in science class?
