Hopefully I will never have to experience how well it works. Around here, it is the porcupines that are the problem. Like the large snapping turtle that used to come into the back yard to lay its eggs, both are relocated to another part of town where there are no residences for them to become a nuisance again. Junkman -- If you ever get a dog quilled again here's a neat trick for removing them without causing a lot of pain. Cut them off about half an inch from the dog's skin. Take a piece of guaze soaked in vinegar and place it over the cut quills. The quills are hollow; the vinegar runs down the shaft and turns them soft. After 5-10 minutes the little barbs on the outside of the quills are soft enough to bend back when you pull them out.
