Mind You, I wouldn't try this in my Tractor or PSD . (at least not first ) But judging from some of the claims , it might be just the thing for my mower, and log splitter engines .
Apparently it cuts the wear and friction down to near zero .
Does anyone here have any experience with this product ? John

Just my 2 cents here........... I wont use it at all! It contains teflon and thats a no no for oil gallies or anything. Look at what happens to cook ware treated with teflon...................

Just my 2 cents

The spray works great on all the tractors various joints. Other then that, it's just not needed, really.

Will and Rat . Thanks for the advice . It seemed as good as some of the synthetic oil claims . But, apparently in some cases claims take precedence over fact /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif John

If I had an old worn out engine I might try it. But never on anything that is in good condition. I have always stayed away from any oil additives. The way I see it is that it is supposed to coat everything with a protective barrier, seal fine scratches, etc.... some things should not be coated... like oil passages.

My brother had an old hunk of junk Chevy with a straight 6 and about 250k miles and he used it on a regular basis! He swore by the stuff... but I've always stayed away from it. However when he sold the truck it was running like a top (probably better than it did at 150k miles) and never had any problems.

Back in about 1994 I bought a new boat. The dealer was really sold on the stuff but would not put it in until the second year. He told me the motor had to be fully broken in before you can use it. So I second year he put it in. I don't know if that motor was just a tight motor or what but it sure was a dog/sluggish until it hit the 4th year it finally seemed to come out of it and have a lot more snap.

I am not sure I would use it unless you had a really old motor.

As a direct result of slick 50 I had to rebuild the engine in a Chevy Z71 4x4 that I had.

The engine was fine, and then ~ 3 months after putting Slick 50 in, I started noticing a heavy puff of smoke at startup and after sitting at a stop light or such. Over the course of about 2 weeks that went from non-existant to really bad. After the 2 or so weeks I started noticing a pinging in the engine too.

Well, I figured it was the old thing that those engines were notorious for... bad valve stem seals. So the next saturday, I tore into the engine to do that job, but as soon as I got the valve covers off, oil ran out in the floor... even after sitting all night. The engine was plugged up so bad that oil couldn't even return from the top of the engine.

I had that truck off the road for nearly 6 weeks. It took me every evening and all weekend for the entire 6 weeks to drop the oil pan, pull the cylinders (2 of which were cracked from wrist pin around to the other side), replace all the bad stuff and CLEAN.

The best of the cleaning I had to do was when it was black and flaky, almost like ash. That was probably only 10%. The rest of everything else was the consistency of tar and stuck to everything.

That broke me from using oil additives, ever again.

Dupont, the origionators of Teflon do not endorse or recommend the teflon type of oil additives.
