Yes you can use it in tubed tires but at least the "Slime brand" is marked for tube tires.

Gallons??? I've heard of filling tires with windshield washer fluid and Rim Guard but this is the first case I have heard of using slime for ballast!!!!

Hi Kubotafan. I didn't intend to suggest I use Slime for ballast. I don't. I simply buy gallon jugs because I use a lot of the stuff, it's more economical in the larger container, and the gallon jug has the dispenser. Nothing to do with ballast.

Has anyone used Berryman's? TSC sells it next to Slime and the local store has gallon jugs of Berryman's, but has Slime in quarts.

Berryman's was the first tire sealant that I tried, back in the early 80's. Slime seems more popular these days but Berryman's is a good product.

On subject of slime:

Found out that all brands may not be equal!
I used a lesser but well known brand name purchased on liquidation table.

Used on my fuelling cart (20 gals+hand pump) and one tire just plain slid off of the rim!

When I re-installed I found that the sealant was frozen!
Turned out that it was a water based product.

As I needed to fill up the fuel tank, LIKE NOW, I smeared the rim with grease with success.

The cart sports those 5" tubless tires commonly sold for about $5.00 (tire and rim).
Bought 1/2 dz at the time @$5.00 ea and none hold air! well they do, until you need to use them and they are always flat.

What I am saying not all sealants are made equal!

I have a old rake that is ground driven and appears to have a tube. the stem is not seated in the hole but does not fall in to tire. the side walls are old and cracked age unknown. I was planning to slime the tires of all my equip. is there any easy way to tell if it has a tube?

any suggestions aginst it? i have a bailer that kicks side to side and wasnt sure if that would be bad....
