Slip Clutch Question

   / Slip Clutch Question #11
Take a look at Highbeam's method on the post below. I haven't tried it yet, but from my limited experience with a slip clutch it sounds good. I ran a bush hog with an over run clutch for 5 years on the original shear pin then traded tractors and broke 5 pins the first day, all from fast starts with the electric pto engagement.

Dead simple, and the instructions should come WITH the slip clutch. Adjustable springs maintain contact between the friction plates. You simple use a ruler or calipers to adjust the spring length to provide the ft-lbs of torque required to counter the specific PTO horsepower of any given tractor within it's range. They can typically be adjusted within the 20 to 50 PTO horsepower band.
