I suppose it could be done, but it might need to be re-adjusted for the slipping point of different attachments. For instance, a rototiller would almost certainly need a different setting (for the clutch to slip) as compared to the rake you mentioned.
Now, if someone came out with a slip clutch that had a quick adjustment knob that had individual settings for PHD, a rototiller, a flail mower, a bush hog, a power rake, a snowblower, etc, etc, then you might be onto something!!!

Setting the slip clutch is not a problem... I just loosen all the bolts and tighten to point where they are slipping, then I tighen a little more so the implement only slips under hard load. A slip clutch should be adjusted if it hasn't been used in a while.

You always want the limited slip friction disc clutch next to the implement as the P.T.O., shaft will transmit the shock back into the transmission before it slips.:thumbdown:

all the slip clutches I have bought or rebuilt say "for implement end only"
there must be a reason for this? to sell one for each implement? maybe.

When they say implement end only... are they taking about the direction of install? Thats what I thought.

Yes you want the clutch close to the implement to reduce the reaction time to a minimum to protect the tractor.:thumbsup:

That means the clutch slips the minute the implement contacts an object that will not allow it to continue. The limited slip friction disc clutch immediately prevents the PTO shaft from twisting binding and bending and damaging the tractors transmission from stress on the carrier bearings,seals, and drive components. :thumbsup:
