To be honest I would have good tractor mechanic take a look now,and if he agree that it was the seal plus more have him do the work.

There lot to changing a seal..replacing old parts, cleaning, looking for other damage, installing etc...could be a night mare.

I went and look-up my workshop manual & illst parts book. It show's a piston thats similar to the ones in your engine. But it has o-rings on it.Instead of combustion rings . I would say thats were your trouble is. It looks pretty simple to disassemble take the seat off unhook the lines and 3pt links and unbolt it. No gears to mess with !! Good luck

Camshaft....

Run all that past me again??

I don't have a book and don't want to get into too much trouble. Do you reckon I could attempt it. I am reasonably handy but pretty good at stuffing things up too !

Cheers

Well maybe I spoke to quickly; Iam thinking your tractor is a standard tranny if it is it is simple to take apart. If its a hydrostatic take it to your dealer. So here we go disconnect the brackets that hold fenders on disconnect the steel hyd lines take your seat off unhook 3pt linkage in back .Unbolt the top of the 3pt which has about 8 to 12 bolts .Then just lift it off. You should pressure wash that area first before starting to dissassemble. But if your no sure better off taking it to a dealer!!! Good Luck and cheers !!!!

Camshaft

Yes it's off to the dealer this weekend, via a car trailer.

I would sure as anything drop a bolt down into something important and have never fiddled with hydraulics before.

Thanks for your help. I'd love to have a manual for it, might make things easier !

Cheers

Well guys it turned out to be a real easy fix !

Stupid here carted his tractor on a hired trailer about 40km, got it off the trailer and into the mechanics this morning. The reason for the lack of lift.......... The lid of the toolbox under the seat had come adrift and was fouling up the lever. Felt like it was right back but it was hitting the toolbox.

When fixed !! The little machine lifted me and the mechanic, over 200kg so I reckon it is now OK.

Learned a lot from him anyway, besides how stupid I am.

Attached is pic of the 'Bota on its way anyhow.

Fun stuff !!!!1

Neil,
Glad to read the good news about the fix.
Most of the times its the easy fix that makes one /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif for we all been there a time or two. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Nice looking trailer...did you make the trailer yourself.

Have a pleasant weekend.

I think we all have things like that happen from time to time. It can be really annoying to learn it was just my ignorance, but I'd rather feel foolish than spend the big bucks./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif
