I get a whine when using my B2620 loader but haven't pinned down exactly what causes it. My traded in BX 1800 was very smooth and noise free in loader use so this is worrysome. Frankly the loader on my B2620 doesn't seem as good in many ways as the loader on my BX.

Just an update. Not sure if this is your problem, too Bill. My dealer just got back in touch w/ me (who is great by the way) and said it sounds as if your 3ph control knob (right below the seat) is in the almost closed position to open it up fully and then try the loader again. Well he is correct to say that the knob is just about in the closed position as I usually leave it there and have been using the Box Blade so I like to keep it there to slow down the lowering of the blade so maybe this is my problem. I didnt know the 3ph control knob affected the loader operation but according to him apparently it does. I will have to try this tonight as well.

CJ, I share your confusion that the 3PH control knob would affect loader operation. I'm not sure on your tractor, but on my MX5000 there's a similar valve to control hydraulic flow to the FEL. It's on the lower right side of the tractor near the hydraulic oil filter, and it's made to be turned with a screw-driver. My FEL was getting really sluggish a while back and after checking I found that that valve had inadvertently become almost entirely closed. However, it controls fluid flow to the entire FEL assembly, so a closure there should manifest itself in ALL of the FEL movements, not just dumping.

Keep us posted, and good luck. I'm not sure if you've ever connected/disconnect hydraulic lines with quick couplers before, but it's pretty much like an air compressor hose. It's pretty normal to leak a few teaspoons of fluid as you do it, so don't be alarmed if that happens.

Josh

Thanks Jcaron2, Yes on my first tractor I used to remove the FEL to mow so I have unhooked the lines before. I will try this 3ph contral knob first and then your idea of switching lines to see if there is a difference if I need too. I will update tonight or tomorrow Thanks again!

I hope you find the problem, but I sure hope that's not the cause.

I have my 3 ph control knob almost closed too for box blade and FEL seems to dump fine. I'll play with it this weekend and close it completely and see if it effects FEL.

On my B200 I had the exact same problem. It turned out that once I lifted the rubber boot covering the linkage and removed the main operating lever (joystick) there was a circular plate connected via 3 rod ends to the individual valve spools. Well, the bolt between the plate and the rod end for the bucket curl had worked loose. When the joy stick was pushed to the left it pushed down, thus the loose bolt made no difference. But when moved to the right, the slop resulted in the solenoid just being cracked open and slow.

Re-torqued the bolts and now it is back to normal.

When dumping you move the handle to the right. If you move the handle further to the right past the detent, the dump function slows. This is the controlled dump as the regenerative function comes into play.Could this be what you're finding? Not sure about the change in engine sound.Good Luck.

Update. I tried the 3ph controll knob as suggested by my dealer, didnt really see any difference. In playing w/ the joystick as # 2 suggested I did see a pretty substantial difference in speed. When passing the detent it is slow but if I stop the joystick right before it seems to dump normall but the only problem w/ this is there is such a fine line from detent to non-detent that it seems to be like a 1/4 of an inch or less that I have before it passes the detent and slows down. Is this normal? I will be using the loader all weekend moving my 10 yrds. of mulch around so we will see what happens I will update. If no better I will try some of the other suggestions w/ hoses and removing the joystick. Thanks guys!

It sounds like an issue with the joystick valves (since you can get it to work when you baby it). Hopefully just an adjustment or something loose as suggested.

Well it turns out dealer was most likely right after all. In putting some hrs. in this weekend moving mulch and boulders around I worked all weekend w/ the 3pt. control knob fully open and the loader worked a lot better. I was very suprised when he told me this may be the problem I tried it the other night only for a minute or 2 and didnt see the difference but after putting some series seat time in this weekend I can deffinitly see the difference so problem solved. Thanks guys for the suggestions.

I played around with this on my B2320 this weekend and it made absolutely no difference with 3pt adjustment fully closed and fully open (at idle or high rpm).

Not sure of the 23 or the gear drive setup is different.
