Tomky: What time zone are you in?

The 200+ seconds are taking place during the backup time of the forum. The maintenance happens then.

I'm going to modify my code so it shuts down the forum, however, and people see a little message telling them of the maintenance window.

Can you let the forum run slow during maintenance, and post a notice that slowdowns may occur? Either that, or just let people get over the occasional periods of slow response.

It really bugs me that my wife says "are you talking to your tractor 'friends'" with just enough sarcastic emphasis on 'friends'. I can't do much about this truly sad state of affairs. I have to admit that I must settle for getting my country living and tractor experience vicariously through TBN since the farm is an hour away! I'm never there enough.

You guys misunderstood.

The maintenance window APPEARS to be multiple hours, but it's only a few minutes. Local server time (In Texas) is 3am, so it's 4am on the east coast, 2am where I am, 1am on the west coast.

The time it takes to actually run the maintenance is about 5-10 minutes. That's the window of time I'd shut the forum for.
