Cub Cadet 23HP Z-Force 50
I have a 23HP z-force 50 hydrostatic zero-turn riding mower. about 4 yrs old, mows 4 acres. it cuts great but the speed is very slow now. handles are moved forward and it goes but it's slow & only one speed. cuts even though. any idea what i should be looking at?

manual should give you some tranny speed control lever linkage adjustments. If still slow after that, try draining and replacing tranny oil. Work Clean !! Purge well after re-filling - replace tranny filter with new OEM filter - not some aftermarket doozie.
Beyond that, grab/hold yer purse real tight and take machine to qualified shop for repair. Good Luck
No Manual ? find machine's ID plate to get full model number and serial number. Google to find MTD Online manuals website. Enter numbers - should be presented with downloadable owners and/or parts list....

This unit most likely has EZT drives. There's no replaceable filters and changing the oil on them requires removing the units from the machine and inverting them to dump the old oil out.

One thing to keep in mind is, even tho the lap-bars may be pushing all the way forward, the linkage on the drives may not. You need to verify your getting fill forward/back range of motion at the drives.

It's unfortunate, but there's lots of unhappy owners that had to replace these drives around ~200hrs because of failures.
