SLT1550 slow to start up

I recently changed the battery at first it would crank up right away....as time has gone by it is really working hard to get it started....seemed like the new battery is not getting charged or something....any suggestions as to where to start checking would really be appreciated.

Firstly- Welcome aboard!! Poor cranking with a new battery or a few weeks past the new battery?? If it's the first- you have a connection or solenoid or starter problem. If the second- A charging system issue.. Get a voltage tester and test the battery w/key off. should be 12 V or a tad more. Start the engine and test the battery voltage again- Should be 13V or more if charging system working.. let us know..

I have the Kohler 25 HP and I'll check the voltage

Clean cables on both ends, ground at frame - make sure you have clean connection. Check resistance on cables, MAy have internal corrosion.
