A friend of mine is retiring and is starting a mini farm. He writes a column for the local paper about raising all of his own meat, poultry and produce, as well as small scale logging and other activities involving farming and nature. Really interesting stuff that he has learned over the years and has passed on to friends and family. He is trying to find sources for small agricultural implements such as bailers, harvesters, silage makers, planters etc...

Anyone have any links to online sources?

David,

This is not exactly what you asked for, but I bet your friend would enjoy the heck out of these. All are still available. They are not expensive. I paid about $ 10 each a few years back.

Steve Carver has some mini-balers on his web-site at:

Hope this helps get things started!

David,

I like: <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.sweettractors.com>http://www.sweettractors.com</A>

They are in Kentucky and respond well to questions. Their shipping costs seem reasonable.

Sounds like he might be interested in <A target="_blank" HREF=http://members.home.net/18james/rural/hay.html>The Hay FAQ</A>

Otherwise, I have a small list of people who make tractor implements and links to longer lists at http://www.18james.com//rural/hay.shtml. Thanks for the update DFB

Muhummed's book has an excellent appendix of such sites which might stair step you to others.

The Hay FAQ is no longer a valid site.

Here's what I've got for the haying FAQ link Befco also has hay equipment too.

For implements such as planters check both

When I use your link DFB I go to the haying site. When I use the Haying FAQ link it tells me the site is no longer there.

These are GREAT books [I have the set of seven]
There is a publishing company out of NY state that sells them. If there is interest I will dig up their web address.

I just checked and all three are available from Amazon.com. I think I'll get them. What are the titles of the other four in the set?
