Seriously, I would try to find a spot to make a ford.

Thanks for the compliments. I believe if you are going to take the time to build a bridge, build one that will outlive you with no fear of collapse.

It was a Family/Friends event getting it across the creek.

I built this one last summer. The ditch is approx 8 across and 5壇eep. Dry except in rains then it痴 a raging torrent. Field stone and earthen ramps. Even the dog likes it.

Lots of interesting ideas. I have a creek about 20-25' across I've always wanted to span with a bridge, this thread is getting me motivated!
