Small caliber target pistol?

I want one. Been looking, but they are hard to come by. I've seen a few of them with the skeletonized barrel, but I don't want one of those. I want the one you have.

Naaa,, what you really want is a Model 18 S&W,, it shoots almost as good as a 41,,,

This one is an 18-3

Lots of good pistols mentioned. I own Ruger Mk2's and Mk4, S&W Victory, S&W 617, 317, 63, and 43 pistols and revolvers.

As a personal recommendation I'd avoid the Ruger Mk3 series, the slightly difficult reassembly process of the Mk2, with the added frustration of a magazine disconnect thrown in. The Mk4 is a dream to take down and reassemble. The reassembly is not difficult once you've done it a few times, but the Mk4 eliminates any difficulty at all.

I slightly prefer the S&W Victory as It's a nice handling pistol, but as mentioned, what fits me might not fit you. Aftermarket grips, triggers etc. are easily available from Tandom Kross, Volquartson and others. The Victory has a magazine disconnect, but it's easily removed if that's your choice.

Buckmark is also excellent though I've never owned one but have shot them many times.

I'll mention that the Rugers have their serial numbers on what most would call the barrel, or upper receiver. That makes a difference if you choose to change barrels at some point as it's an FFL item. Barrels for the Buckmark and Victory are buy through the mail items.

As long as it "fits", I found my target pistol.

I called Bass Pro to see if they could order the Buckmark Field Target with threaded barrel for me.

The guy wasn't in so I just called back today, he is going to check to see if he can order it because it's not listed on their site.
He did say he should be able to, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I officially ordered my pistol yesterday. I bought the suppressor ready Buck Mark Field version. It should be in within 10-12 days he says. I'm pretty excited to try it out!
He did say that if I didn't like the feel of it I couple return it before leaving the store, even though it's a special order. However, I honestly can't see me doing that. Even if I don't love the grips I can always change them out.

I also ordered an extra magazine and a few different boxes of ammo to try out.

I tried ordering an AAC Halcyon silencer but they are out of stock. I'm on the waitlist.

HA! There's that "need" word again, it pops up from time to time. I don't even "need" a pistol, let alone a silencer.

Ruger MKlll with 6" tapered barrel. Always enjoyed the look, feel and accuracy. Works wonders on our Tree Rat problems(red squirrels)!
