Small frame Glock advice?

Ok guys I. was really shocked to find a discussion about glocks....fantastic. I have severall...model 19, 22, and 23. I also have several rail lights. Iam a police officer/ SWAT member and use my model 22 and streamlight TLR 100 all the time. It is a led light rather than
a bulb and gives a much brighter white light than my other streamlight. I spent about 95.00 on it. I would not suggest a laser, they look cool but serve no purpose. You will find yourself looking over the iron sights and trying to put the laser on your target. You will get more kills by gust using the weapon light and iron/night sights....happy hunting

I definitely agree with him when it comes to using the iron sights to line up the laser on the target. I catch myself doing that all the time with my Colt 1991A1. But, I will add on to his other point, put Trijicon sights on your pistol. The sights with the weapon light = a winning combination.

Thanks, I know the laser would be quite expensive so if I could get by with night sites and the tatical light I would be happy. Are all the rails the same between glocks? So the light would work on any Glock?

Here are a couple more links for you to look at. This one addresses your question about your Glocks: GLOCK "Safe Action Pistols". You want to look at the GTL 21/22.
How about this to solve your 12 Gauge light problem? OPTRONICS, INC. - Gun Lights
Here you want to look at the GLL 103.
I have tried to find someone around my area who carries it but no luck. I even tried sending an email to the manufactuerer asking what is the MSRP. They never responded. I guess they don't care if they sell any or not?
If you find one or find out the price, let us know.

Cabelas carries those lights, at least some of them: Cabela's -- Optronics Nightblaster Max 350 Scope Light - Advantage® MAX-4 HD&#8482

As far as I can tell from the Glock Website, they are the same. If they were not, they would be selling different light for the various models. The Website shows only three laser/lights. Three because of the types, i.e., light only, light and laser combination and IR light/laser combination (available to military and police only).

I hope the answer I gave was ok......If anyone has wasted money on cool tactical gadgets, it me. Yes any tactical light will fit any newer generation glock. The way you can tell if your pistol is a new generation, it will have slide rails on each side of the lower reciever. If not than you will have to buy a universal light and I would not be able to give my 2 cents on that because I cant use them in law enforcement. Try looking on police supply web sights. You dont need to be a copper to buy most stuff.

Since you've got a G21, I'd suggest the G30 so you'll use one caliber (unless you're a gun enthusiast...then you'll want multiple calibers).

Frankly, I carry a light weight .38 spl snubbie most the time in a pocket holster. I'll carry a 9mm Glock (G19) if I can conceal it (and, the G19 is an easy gun to conceal...as is the G30).

You are planning on getting a permit, aren't you? You do not want to be caught with a concealed weapon without a permit (especially in New York state).

Roy, I have had a permit for quite a few years now. I have a few guns listed on it as my guns are listed on my dad's and his on mine so if something happened to one of us the other can just take the guns without the state coming in and trying to take them. Also, I do love guns and would enjoy having multiple calibers but my pocket book won't allow it right now. I could switch calibers though and would be fine as long as one of my friends has the die to reload that size.

Duce, your answer was fine. Since I have no experience with lasers I look to those who do. My only experience is seeing a few State Troopers here use their lasers to target a deer that had been hit with a car at night. They seemed like a slick setup but I think the night sites and tatical light would be cheaper and more useful in the long haul so I am leaning towards that way now.

I didn't read all the post so I hope this is relevant. I have a G27 subcompact 40 cal. I love it. It's a little snappy in recoil, I got a Storm Lake 9mm barrel for it to practice and the economy, do enough practice in 40 to be competent. The little finger hangs off grip, but after 20 min or so, I shoot better because you don't have a tendency to milk the gun and shoot low.
