Picked up a new tool chest to store stuff for the new Bridgeport. You could mount the handle on either side, so that left 2 threaded inserts just sitting there on the opposite side, so I made a little shelf to contain the hold down kit and cutting oil, etc from some leftover 304 scraps. 14 ga for the main piece and the 2 upper extensions where the screws go in. 1/8" x 3/4" bent around as a small lip to keep stuff from rolling off too easy. There was a locating hole next to each screw boss, so I drilled a hole for a short stub of 5/16" rod and plug welded it there. Fun little project. It is so handy to be able to do little things like this!

I really like it. Tall and rides low. (y) btw, nice Bridgie! Variable speed head, and is that a VFD?

Yes and yes. A VFD seemed like the easiest option as I had nothing prior that was 3 phase
