I like saws a lot - you can make a lot of money with them or lose your tail. Presently have Behringer and Hem-Saw fully automatic saws, a Kaltenbach that is being canabalized, and a couple of generic verticle saws. IMHO the smallest chinese/taiwanese saws that won't drive you insane is a "quality" 7"x12". Any asian import that is smaller than that is mostly junk with bad blade guides, and not enough tension capacity. A lot of the older American saws are good if not totally worn out, and the higher end 7x12s are pretty good. Unless you are a true pain freak, stay away from the 4x6 saws, their main purpose in life is to throw blades and ruin stock. I have a 7x12 Taiwan saw with a gearbox speed changer that was sold by Enco that I use at the ranch and it is a good little saw, just not as accurate and fast as my bigger saws.
