I guess I opened a can of worms. I really appreciate all of the in put but on the safe side should I put so barrs stop leak in it? I read in another thread someone put this in theirs. I have been on this board a long time an very little posting on my part. (don't know much about engines) I have used this form to help me. I want to thank everyone.

Thanks

Greg,

Tried to get out and take a look, between rain showers. My plastic hose has become hardened and yellowed from age. I would have to swab the inside of the hose, to see if there is residue. Not a very tight connection to the valve cover fitting. The end is connected to the intake manifold. I can't swear to it, but think my first tractor, the hose was just dangling.

I removed the top cover to the crankcase filter (first time). The top of the steel wool like material was clean. A slight oily film could be seen on the bottom 1/3 of the material. Inside the can, a couple of oil drops near the pipe opening. Overall, I thought it was rather clean since I have never checked it before.

If I get time, and weather cooperates, will remove hose, and varify if a vacuum exists. I believe there will be, and because the top of the valve cover is exposed to the crankcase, via the oil drain holes, it should put a vacuum on the crankcase, be it more of a pulsing vacuum. We'll see. Will try blocking it and monitoring the oil pressure, too.

Hey Pauly,

On my first Chinese Tractor, it sprang a Leak in the Head Gasket.

This go around, on my Jinma, I put Bars Leak in the Cooling system as soon as I got the Tractor home. And then as soon as I could after the 50 hour mark, I retorqued the HeadBolts, and Adjusted the Valve Lash.

I highly recommend, that you do the Head Retorque, and Valve Lash Check and/or Adjustment, if you haven't allready done this.

We have several members that have taken pictures and posted how they did this in the Owner's Club. It's not hard at all, but some study time, and getting your materials, prior to doing the procedure, will make it much easier and faster to do. It was not hard to do, and others, have also said the same thing. Take advantage of our site, and the very nice pictures that are posted for your convenience.

Have a nice day,

Hey.. that's a decent one..I think you are 'beat-proof' on this one.... It's at least a plausible theory.

Maybee we will know more after John completes his checking.

On a side topic... Yet another reason for a mechanical oil pressure gague! ( I know they have their own pitfalls too! )
