Well it was a short lived smoke free environment. WEnt out this a.m. fired up the tracotr and after a few seconds I was back to square one. Bogged down after initial start up and blew smoke bad.

I have had that converstaion . I buy my fuel in bulk, off road, and run an excavator every day with it. No problem there. The tanks on the tracotr itself have never been drained dry to see if I have been sabataged. Bought an truck that some one cleverely put a brown paper bag in the fuel tank, chased that gremlin for awhile too. Maybe it is time to drain the tractor tanks and se if a prankster got to it .

Started it up this a.m. and s.o.s. Yesterday my dealer wondered if it wasn,t something in the fuel pump. Took the fuel pump off this a.m. and there was a small but evident blade of grass stuck in one of the diaphram type internal gaskets. Once again I am back to normal, for today. Started with grounding intake manifold, got new injectors and then took a blade of grass out of fuel pump.

Sheeze, a blade of grass:confused: ...i've heard of bio-diesel, but i think your supposed to process the green stuff before you dump it in the tank:D!
Let us know how it runs after a few hrs.......

That reminds me, the old '78 Yanmar had a drop in filter/screen basket under the fuel cap. My Kioti does not....maybe i should look for one because i remember cleaning that screen out and couldn't believe the crap that it caught.

Yes, why don't we have those screens? I ran one of those little greyish mitsubishi Bd2g bulldozers, tiny 7500 lbs, and its fuel fill included the screen. Sure there are fuel filters down the line but I would rather not dump junk in the tank. I suppose we could all use funnels with screens but the funnels get taken out of the fill kneck and tossed in tthe back of the truck where they get coated with junk so no good.

How did the blade of grass get past your fuel filter?

I once ran a rented Kubota TLB and someone had been moving bark dust with it. We landscape with bark from trees in the NW. We knew it was barkdust because when you opened the fuel cap you could see the floaters. Seems the previous renter fogot to put the fuel cap on and got a load of bark in the tank. That bark dust and the fines made for a plugged fuel filter. Thinking back, it may have been some kid messing with the renter.

My 1995 LK3054 does have one. It has a crack around the top so I have ordered a new one when I ordered my filters last. I do not know what size tank openings you have but it might cross. Some of the dealers here could probably try that for you and post it.

As for things getting past fuel filters I cannot say, but I remember some company used to sell a wrist watch that was self winding and came packed in water to demo its water proofness. My brother and I both bought one and we both had to have them fixed within the year for getting a wrist hair into the action. We never got a drop of water in the watches though...
