Smooth out section of yard

I just tried my best at leveling the back of my yard to give the kids a little better space to play. 1) Took the trees and stumps out 2) Removed dirt from high side to low side (brought in some extra fill dirt as well) and 3) I need to smooth this out/remove some minor low spots, etc so I can put some seed and straw down. what attachment can I rent to knock this out?

I would do some more leveling work with a box blade. then if needed, use a drag harrow for the final smoothing.

I would think either a box blade or a land plane ( grading scraper ) would do what you need. I have a land plane and love it. Very easy to use and adjust.

I have never worked with a box blade before so i can't comment on how easy it is to operate, but I know it is a great tool for moving and leveling a lot of dirt.

A harley rake does a great job on areas where the fill is fairly clean.
I use one for everything from grading a gravel road to preping new ground for seeding.
Also known as a power rake.

Depending on your JD tractor they will need 20 HP PTO for the harley rake 5' - why not use a front end loader to smooth it out then rake it out? I presume you got the dirt leveled the way it looks now with the FEL

The Harley rakes are awesome for leveling and picking rocks and making a nice seen bed.

Rototiller first and then landplane or a good heavy lawn roller.coobie

my buddy that i help re-grade his back yard and side hill, I box bladed it because i had better control "better feel" for it. i then let him run over the entire thing with my tiller set to 2" setting, then drug with chainlink fence and a log. then seaded.

turned overgrown woods into great yard and side hill over a years time.

I am with Coobie on this, till it deep and smooth it out with a landplane. Then add top soil smooth again and you would be ready to seed. Having a small water filled roller behind your lawn mower would be handy too.

This is a small enough area that you can use a boxblade to and get similar results, depends on what you have available to you.
