Snakes !!!

We have that fear factor show here and it is crap !!!!!

Nah it's not too bad here. Now that I know the snakes that seem to be prevelant are OK I am happier.

Although I cleaned out some crap from inside the shed yesterday and was vary careful. Last night I dreamed of snakes so that's not a good sign. Dreamt everyone I saw was a different colour so I was just trying to whack them all just in case !!

My office is lined so I am OK in here!!!

I think I'll try the moth balls instead !!!!

I had to mow around the shed yesterday with the push mower, as the rideon has a flat tyre and the tractor is too big for this area. SO I got some excercise which is good.

Keen to keep the grass short now I know I have "friends" dropping in to see me !!

Wow now I am impressed /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif. That would be a great idea here as we have to drive to town to post our mail.

Now maybe out in the country here that too also applies but not near the cities for sure.

Neil, our mail carrier always carries an assortment of stamps, books of stamps, etc., so if I see him I can just buy stamps from him if he has what I need (and he usually does), or I can just leave the money and a note in the mailbox and he'll leave them, and I can also just phone the post office and tell the postmistress what I need and she'll see to it that he has them for me the next day (the postmistress is my carrier's wife).

We can also order stamps, or other postal material, on the Internet. However, I tried that recently and won't do that again. There was a dollar shipping charge, and I thought they'd just e-mail the local post office to send the stamps, but instead they were mailed to me from another state and took about 10 days to get them./w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

10 days to get stamps is ridiculous!!! /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif I heard one President say, that the best way to speed up the Post Office is to start mailing them their paychecks!! /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

I have snake problems in the high country at the moment too. I have lots and lots of red-bellied black snakes around my wetland. They are described as "dangerously venomous" but "no one has ever died from one".
That's reassuring.

Haven't heard from you on TBN for a while.

Yes we have RBB Snakes here too. They are one of the 14 local snakes for Central Qld as per the National Parks brochure. RBB Snakes obviously can live anywhere in that case !!

Brochure says cane toad has caused it's numbers to decline, so maybe that's why I have yet to see one but they would be happy down your way.

When I was a kid we camped on the Condamine River (West of Brisbane somewhere - I forget) and we were swimming in the river and a RBB snake swam across next to us - SCARY !!! /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif

I must say Australia is one of the few places I considered living outside of the Unites States; although, all those poisonous snakes make me realize that Australia is a very "wild" place. I watched Discovery channel the other day, and Australia always comes in near the top for poisonous spiders and snakes. Some people on the show told of stories where snakes have chased them down!!! What are you feeding the animals down there to make them so aggressive? /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif
