I roll mine back with the top link until there is an inch or more daylight showing under the cutting edge.

Thank you for the replies.. I think if the sucker ever gets here I will know exactly how to set it up.. I have a feeling that snow will be done for the year when it arrives.. Sucker keeps getting snowed in here and there.. I also wonder while folks don't set the stop on there three point to keep the unit off the ground if necessary..

I set my 3-pt to carry the blower weight a little bit. Sometimes you will need to lower or raise the 3-pt a bit with changes in the slope of the ground. Entering a dip it may be too high, leaving a dip it may be too low. Leaving a little snow is easier on the equipment than trying to bulldoze with the blower cutting blade. If I see my blower jockeying side to side on the lift arms, I raise it a bit to take some weight off the shoes.

The plowboys run a cut lengthways on a piece of pvc and attach it to the cutting edge raising the plow 1/2" off the ground and still allow full drop float. Perhaps same could be made for the blower

I do similar for my gravel driveway, cut 2.5" sch 40 lengthwise, align holes for cutting blade and use post bolts to attach. It'll be 20 degress but ground isn't frozen so rocks are loose. When I added sch 40 piece of pvc, it sort of rolls over the stones.. by no means perfect. However avoids 90% of the rock and works great over sand or grass. I noticed that it is better in the virgin snow vs tracks. I plan to bring fence pipe to machine shop in spring for length cuts. Snowblower is heavy and sch 40 does well but plastic +cold = cracks.

free shipping is not all its cracked up to be.. The sucker made it to Glendive MT and has not moved for two days.. We had 8 inches of snow today and the blade had issues.. It was wet sticky stuff and would not even flow off the blade

At least it is in Montana. It'll get there, sooner or later. Maybe just in time for the winter of 2014-15

006.jpg010.jpg008.jpg007.jpgWell it got here and I love it.. Blower was packaged in a steel crate and it was a good think cause some of the steel was bent but blower is fine..Used it last weekend in 8 inches of snow and loved it.. Puts the snow well away from the road so no berm build up.. Still trying to get it fine tuned so it wont pull up gravel once in a while.. Gravel in the grass is no big deal but I hate to see it remove paint on the lower side of the drum.. I really try to keep my stuff in good shape.. Should have another 6-8" in the morning.. The wife likes how I have been able to widen the road again with the blower..

It got to you in time. I'm sure you are going to like it.

Don't forget to check the auger drive chain tension after a few break-in runs.
