Snow boots

/ Snow boots #61
For anything other than working in the woods and/or with a chainsaw, I wear Muck brand "Arctic" boots when plowing and really anytime I'm out in the winter. They are some of the warmest boots I have ever owned. They are basically an insulated neoprene boot with a really good tread on them. There is no steel toe or other protection in them, and being neoprene, the uppers are soft. This is why I don't wear them working in the woods: They get torn up too easily. However, they are great for anything else.

The warmest boots I have ever warn is a pair of military Mukluks.
Rubber traction soles, canvas uppers, heavy felt liner and a mesh like inner sole.
Some versions had a zipper entry while others are top entry.
Downside is poor ankle support but acceptable trade off to enjoy warm feet.
I used to think so highly of those mukluks - wore them every winter for 35 yrs - had to find something to replace them, the Baffin Constructor I mentioned earlier in this thread, far surpasses them - just going into my third winter of use!!!
