I am working on modifying my Fisher snow plow to fit my 1994 Kubota B-2150 it has worked so far but I do have one major road block. I thought I would be able to use the tractor's hydraulic bucket "dump" and "roll back" circuits to power angle my plow.

I have it rigged so that my right angle is "dump" and the left angle is "roll back"... Here is where the problem lies... it will only angle left. When you try to angle right the hyd. whines and the tractor will almost stall.

My angle pistons are one way but my bucket rams are two way. My guess is that for some reason the fluid cannot bleed back out of the cyl. but why will it work one way? Even with the 2way rams the excess fluid has to go SOMEWHERE! Doesn't it bleed back through the valve bank?

My real concern is, is it possible to make this work cheaply? I've spent $75 on hyd. hoses & fittings so far I don't want to go broke doing this!

Thanks!

That hydraulic setup, as you have it, works for my Deere 4300, but if I push the control lever hard to the far right to "dump", it goes into a "fast" dump circuit mode (called regenerative, I believe) and the blade will not angle to the right. So I don't push that control all the way to the right, but just part way (which works fine). I am not sure your 'Bota hydraulics is the same, but might be worth a try.

This circuit should work, presuming you have a line that would be connected to one eod of the dump cylinder to each of the one way cylinders.
BIG CAUTION HERE- Make certain you have a snow plow type releif valve in the circuit between the valve and the cylinders. A noow plow blade developes tremendous forces against those cylinders, and without a releif system the pressure will be sufficient to bust hoses, lines, and cylinders.

A $400 mistake?

Well it looks to me that without a new 4 way control valve I'm going to have to like plowing in one direction...
Unless there is a wayto override the regen function, maybe I'll contact Kubmech...

Well I'm glad I know this now!! Thanks for the word Ekim_Otsiam!!

Looks like I may rig up that old headgear and control valve & cables sooner than I thought!

Thanks,

A number of people have mentioned this having something to do with the "regenerative" function. On my 4300 I have a lever down near the diff lock, if I recall, which has three positions, one of which turns off this regenerative function.. and they recommend it be used for anything besides a FEL.

Doubt if this helps, but who knows.. :)

Trev:

" "the "regenerative" function." "

Will this also work on a tired old body like mine???

Re: A $400 mistake?

Something isn't making sense with regard to this regenerative situation. All that should be happening in regen is that the oil leaving one end of the piston is being sent to the other end of the piston, rather than being dumped into the reservoir, so you should be able to connect the "bucket tilt" hoses to the single acting cylinders, thru a overpressure valve, and the blade should function properly.
I'm not conversant with the tractor model in question, but unless the regen system you guys are referring to involves a bucket leveling cylinder, the system will support hydroturn easily.
