I am a highway supervisor in Illinois and we deal with the same situations listed in this post. I understand how homeowners feel when we have to plow their driveways shut, we don't want to but we have many miles of highway to keep open, if we stopped and messed around with each entrance we would not get anything done. And occasionally I have to call the State Police when some homeowner and part time "snow pusher" cleans their drives out onto the state highway. What moron would push a pile of snow out to be hit by high speed traffic? Oh well , just wanted to get that off my chest. Snow removal with me is a love/hate relationship, it causes all kinds of stress and headaches but when you clean a big storm up and traffic is moving well on your highways and the county and city still has problems it makes you feel very satisfied.
