Hey guys,

I have been researching the possibility of adding additional remotes. I just added a snow plow to the FEL and want to be able to utilize the angling feature. It looks like the most popular way to go is with the electric valve setup. I was wondering if adding this https://www.surpluscenter.com/item.asp?UID=2156010115571262&item=9-7747&catname=hydraulic into each one of the curl lines and running a hose to each side of my single action cylinder would achieve the same results? Each on the of the single solenoid valves will run $49.99 vs. $149.00 for the other, these would be more cost effective if they worked.

Seems like we can not have enough remotes once we add one!

You could do it with those, but you'll need 4 of 'em.

So I would have to install one on each line then? That would eliminate the cost effective part then. The plow cylinders are single action so where would the four come into play?

One to open a line to your plow cylinder, another to close the line to your curl cylinder.
And you need to do this to both lines, so 2 X 2 = 4.

Ok....I thought that the single would act as a T and divert the flow from the curl to the plow from the supply line it was installed in and vise wersa in the line of the cylinder being compressed.... Looks like using the rear remote might be easier.

And the route I'm thinking I should have taken.

In my avatar, you'll see my 'grapple brush thing', it's powered from a diverter valve off my 'lift circuit'. Works OK.

In hind site,,,(love that phrase), I'm now thinking I should of gone with a rear remote setup.

If it was cheaper then everybody would be doing it. You need the 5117A valve that cost's $150. Add hoses and fittings and you looking at another $150 or so...

The other option is a solenoid spool valve plumbed into the PB circuit...won't be any cheaper though.

The only thing cheap about hydraulics are O-rings and advice.

Kennyd,

Well I guess that is true as the brain trust here would have explored the most cost effective and efficient way to do this. They have saved me a lot of time and money when it comes to some of the problems or issues with my DX33.

I guess I am confused as to how the diverter works. I was assuming that since there is three outlets in the valve I referenced above that if placed in line with the approbate hose coming from my remote that the while open the fluid would flow normally and the curl circuit would function as usual and then when close fluid would be diverted to the single action cylinder. It seems logical but I must be missing a step here. If i were to unhook the hoses that operate the curl function and attach one hose to one cylinder and the other to the other cylinder would I not achieve the results I am seeking or does the single action cylinders require a different setup?

I just added a set of remotes to my tractor to do just what you are talking about. Just came of the PB port of my FEL valve and plumbed it in. Valve was $100 and the hoses and fittings were another $50. I just bolted it right to the right side fender and it works great. I can now run my 3 point splitter, my snow plow, and any other implement that will need remotes.

Chris,

I am wondering if I have a power beyond port on the DX. I have one set of rear remotes for my hydraulic top link and I have the second valve to install for the second set of rear remotes. I would like to add the additional ones to the front for the snow plow and for a 4-in-one bucket I just bought.
