If I remember right, the formula to calculate the "working width" of the blade at full angle is: cos(angle) * blade length.
For example, my blade is 84" and angles 25 degrees. This formula tells me I can clear a path 76" wide at full angle. For my tractor, this is wide enough to fit the rear tires and the 72" box blade within the cleared path.
I wouldn't worry so much about bucket width - instead look at how wide your tires are.

I cut a 7.5 down to 6.5 for my 32 HP JD
It's a good fit, with snow plows bigger is not better unless you only get very light snows. For heavy wet snow smaller will cut and push better. As mentioned you don't want to be narrower than the width of your tractor when angled.

I have a blade in front from a frontmount kubota series on my b26. And 60" is more than big enough in deep snow like 10+ its all it wants on long pushes 1/2 mile + on.
On residental driveways 2 or 3 car wide 40 deep takes 5 min to clear. Power angle is a must.
On back filling behind trencher is were it gets the most use.

I use this Grattex Model 559 on my B26 and it works great. It is extendible from 5.5' to 9' and does a great job of back blading in reverse for those corner areas.
I have only had light snow falls this year but the B26 will push this blade pretty fully up the slight slope I have. If it gets too much, I just narrow the blade and take it in smaller chunks. This blade has cut my driveway clearing time in half.
I had an old 8' angle blade from my Suburban but my dealer did not recommend it as he was concerned it could bend the loader arms. The Grattex blade with the closed gables pushes more snow for me and I don't have to deal with winrows. I have a large open area near my garage and I find it much fast to clear with this type of blade.

That is an awesome looking implement! I've never seen one before.
Looks a little overkill for your machine, but if you start with it closed up, that's the idea I see. then do the clean up with the wider setting.
A couple things I don't agree with. If you catch one side of that on an immovable object when fully extended it could damage your loader arms as easy as an angled blade. And everything leaves winrows even the biggest box or bucket, if you have to move deep snow with that closed up you will leave a winrow just like any other implement. The good thing about that Grattex is cleaning up that spilled snow would go much faster with the box fully opened.
Definitely a handy snow weapon!

I we have an L28oo to push out our 1,5oo' foot driveway in N.E. PA. We use a 6' blade on our Kub (do not know the max angle of the plow).
FYI:
Dry n deep snow is no problem. However, when we get a deep n wet snow, the first swipe both takes most of the Kub's power and is a tad difficult to steer when the plow angled max in either direction. Sometimes I sometimes lessen the angle on the blade to gain positive steering controls in heavy wet snow.
One last factor, I do not have chains for my Kub.

Using your supplied math Casper I pulled the trigger and ordered a 72". At full angle I will clear 65" and that is plenty. I ordered it from Wildkat Attachments. They only have 96" plows but they are going to cut one down for me. Sweet deal huh.
Glenn you are just north of us. We are just south of Allentown. Hard landing with the copter. Yeeks That is probably no more fun than a hard landing with my HD.
Thanks for the info everybody. Big help. I have 1100 feet of drive and the plow will speed thing up considerably. I now use a 18 horse Simplicity with a 48" blower. It is time consuming with that equipment. Multiple passes until it is open the way I like it.

Iam useing 7'4" plow on my L2800 and works great...pushes snow back foot plus beon rear tires at 45 degrees,also small enough to get into tight places for clean out.
Wet snow,I just take about half blade..works good.

I am using a BX2763A 60" hydraulic blade on my 1860 and I can clear my driveway in three passes. A little trim up work is required, but by being able to control the blade from the seat it's a breeze.
